Teen Girl Inspires Others…When Life Doesn’t Go As Planned
It isn’t a secret that life is absolutely unpredictable. Sometimes it can fall in your favor, and other times it simply just doesn’t go the way you want.
At first, whatever something bad happens it may seem horrible and unfair. You probably remember feeling lonely even while being surrounded by plenty of people, or maybe like a bird with broken wings. But without those times that make you just want to give up entirely, how will you ever realize your potential, know your heart or have the ability to one day fly?
All of your successes and downfalls that you face help create who you were, are and will become. We can’t control our experiences, but we can control how our experiences control us. Even the bad experiences and most embarrassing moments can teach us something.
In fact, I feel like these are probably the most important ones. The people we meet and the experiences you share, shape who we all are.
All that you and I do serves a greater purpose to our life.
Now, I am a firm believer that what’s meant to be will always find a way to happen. Here is my story and hopefully it will give you hope to know that despite the obstacles we face, we have the power to do something about it.
At the start of fifth grade, I had to have my annual physical done. I can’t tell you how I still remember the face of the nurse, but when she put me on that clunky scale, I tried to not focus on the number. Still, I saw her write it down: 75 or so kilos, which is 171 lbs. I was 11 years old at the time, but I didn’t think I was too overweight simply because I’d always struggled with being “that fat girl” my whole life. I hated shopping for clothes — especially when I was about to go back to school.
